Rinu is the private practice of (Alyssa Shanahan), a psycho-spiritual guide working at the intersection of awakening and embodiment. She partners with creatives, leaders, sensitives, and culture-shapers to support both phases of the enlightenment path: the collapse of old identities, and the reintegration into life from an authentic core. Her work centers around cultivating energetic literacy—a fluency in one’s auric design and natural expression. Through this lens, she helps clients cut through distortion, reclaim their natural gifts, and reconnect with the invisible intelligence guiding their evolution. Following a formative awakening in her twenties, Alyssa created Rinu as a response to the collective forgetting that we are nature, wrapped in the story of being human. It holds the belief that the ripple effects of our individual healing contribute to the evolution and wellbeing of the whole. Whether you are awakening to what no longer feels true, or learning how to re-enter the world from a more honest place, Alyssa serves as a mirror and grounded companion for the space between inner and outer reality. Her practice blends Human Design, systems thinking, mediumship, and lived mysticism to offer clarity sessions and long-term guidance containers for those navigating spiritual integration, identity recalibration, creative developments, and energetic overwhelm.

I believe in mutual exchange that honors both the value of the work and the reality of the person receiving it. Whenever I am able I reserve a portion of my practice for non-monetary or hybrid exchanges, especially for those whose path feels aligned but whose circumstances ask for something different. If that’s you, please share where you’re at and we’ll begin there.

Human Design is a system for mapping human nature at the energetic level. It synthesizes Astrology, the I’Ching, the Chakra System, the Tree of Life, quantum mechanics, and astronomy to reveal how you are uniquely designed to move, decide, relate, and express in this lifetime. You can think of it as an operating manual for your energy.
I use it as a tool to support a kind of secular awakening, rooted in self-recognition and resonance. When you start to see yourself clearly, you often stop outsourcing your truth and begin to trust it.
-
Those who are highly self-aware, but exhausted. People who have tried to optimize themselves into alignment and are ready to remember their nature instead. Many also find their way here when they’re looking to bring individual embodiment back into the spiritual path, or to reconnect with something meaningful without needing a belief system to hold it.

Self-help gives you strategies where having energetic literacy reveals to you why certain strategies work (or don’t) for you.
Most self-help advice is based on generalized principles like setting boundaries or speaking your truth, which are all useful in theory. But they don’t account for how you are uniquely wired to process emotion, make decisions, or what environments actually support your growth.
Energetic literacy is a more holistic approach to reading your internal system once you have the language to recognize it. It’s about understanding how you already work, so you can stop resisting your nature and start aligning with it.
For example:
Self-help might tell you to “just say no” more often. But if you have an open Solar Plexus in Human Design, you may physically feel the emotional waves of others which can make saying no feel like walking into a storm. When you recognize this, you stop thinking you're “bad at boundaries” and start understanding that your body has been protecting you from overwhelm. That awareness changes everything. Energetic literacy helps you decode your patterns to honor them. From that trust, life begins to organize around your actual self, and not your adaptations. -

A deeper connection to self can feel confusing when clouded by modern myths. Here are common misconceptions that often misguide the journey:
01. Spirituality is a belief system.
Spirituality isn’t about subscribing to a belief. In practice, it’s the process of unraveling belief to return to what’s already true. Words like energy, nature, spirit, or consciousness are just different ways of trying to name the same thing; something you already experience, regardless of belief.02. You have to follow a specific practice or tradition.
There’s no one right way to be spiritual. Practices like meditation, mantra, or breath work are just tools to help create space from your mind. Spirituality is much more of a choose your own adventure experience. The path unfolds as you walk it. One moment of remembering opens the next.03. Enlightenment is the goal.
The deeper truth is that awakening isn’t comfortable, and it’s rarely a finish line. Real remembrance often brings a paradox of feeling deeply connected to everything while also very isolated as you become more aware of what no longer aligns. The work isn’t to escape the self, but to live from your new-found truth. Integration is the goal.04. The ego is the problem.
Mainstream spirituality speaks a lot about dissolving the ego, but the intention is not to erase your individuality. It’s to see that the ego is not the foundation of who you are. Letting those layers fall away helps you remember the unity beneath the illusion of separation. From there, you can express yourself more clearly and authentically— not from comparison or fear, but from wholeness.06. It’s all love and light.
In its essence, it holds some truth. Awareness is the light— the ability to see clearly. And love, in practice, is coherence— choosing to respond in alignment with truth, whether that’s compassion for yourself or boundaries with someone else.07. Energy work is abstract and belief-based.
What’s strange is that we accept laws like ‘energy cannot be created or destroyed’ in physics, but treat energy as imaginary when it comes to how it works within ourselves. At a fundamental level, you are made of energy. The deeper you zoom in, from body, to system, to cell, to atom, the more obvious that becomes. Energy work simply helps you read that reality before it crosses the threshold into your physical experience.08. You need a guide to access truth.
The aim of sharing this knowledge is to remember that your clearest guidance comes from within you. Through building fluency in how your nature expresses itself, you avoid outsourcing decisions or worth to anything outside of you.
